Wedding venue FAQ
How much does a wedding venue cost?+
Wedding venues typically run $3,000–$15,000 in mid-size US cities and $10,000–$40,000+ in major metros like New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Budget roughly 30% of your total wedding budget for venue and rentals.
How far in advance should I book?+
Book 9–14 months ahead for Saturdays in peak season (May–October). For popular venues in major cities, 16–20 months is safer.
What's the difference between a barn, vineyard, and ballroom?+
Barns offer rustic charm but usually require rentals. Vineyards bundle scenic ceremony space and catering, with smaller caps. Ballrooms include linens, lighting, and weather backup — ideal for 150+ guests.
Do wedding venues include catering?+
Hotels, country clubs, and ballrooms usually include in-house catering. Barns, lofts, and many gardens are "raw" venues — bring your own caterer at $80–$200 per guest plus rentals.
