Editorial policy
How we research, source, and update our content
Every guide, calculator, and product recommendation on Wedding Planner Central follows the standards below. Last reviewed: October 2026.
Who writes our content
Our editorial team is a mix of working wedding planners, wedding-industry vendors (photographers, florists, caterers), and former destination-wedding coordinators. Every guide is reviewed by at least one practicing wedding professional before publication.
Learn more about the team on our About page. Questions about a specific piece can go to our contact page.
Where our data comes from
- Public wedding cost benchmarks published by industry organizations, government tourism boards, and reputable trade press.
- Regional pricing data submitted by planners and vendors in our network (aggregated and anonymized).
- Publicly available vendor pricing on venue and vendor websites at the time of publication.
- Government resources for legal marriage requirements (US state, EU member state, and UK/Ireland sources).
We do not claim our tools are trained on private wedding data. Our budget, seating, and timeline tools are built with public wedding cost benchmarks, planner best practices, and structured planning workflows.
How often we update
- Cost guides and calculators are reviewed at least twice a year.
- Legal requirement guides (destination weddings) are reviewed every 6 months and re-verified against government sources.
- Product comparison pages are reviewed when a competitor changes pricing, features, or ownership.
Affiliate disclosure
Some articles include affiliate links to products on Amazon and other retailers. We only recommend products we would suggest to a friend planning their own wedding. When you buy through our links we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Full details on our disclosure page.

What you'll never see from us
- Paid placements dressed up as editorial picks.
- Cost claims without a source or reasonable benchmark.
- AI-generated content published without a human editor's review.
- Made-up "trained on X weddings" statistics — we describe our tools honestly.
